English concedes that he is slowing down, that the mountains are steeper than they once were. For his 90th birthday, he vows to make the hike out carrying 40 pounds.

    Back on that Thanksgiving day we hiked Mission Peak, this was the guy I was hiking out to see in the afternoon.

    Facinating guy. Good to see his cabin survived the fire.

    Right… that does ring a bell now that you mention it. I had forgotten. :-)

    He seems amazing in a whole list of ways. Living a life largely off the grid, continuing to do so at the age of nearly 90, and (from my perspective as a music person) making a living by producing fine string instrument bows.
