***Need to build some fitness
(and lose some weight) before my British Columbia and Sierra Nevada trips! Today I did the 11-mile loop at Almaden Quicksilver.
Once again I carried my camera and once again I did not take any pictures. There are, I think, two things going on here.
I like to photograph my outdoor adventures [...]

&t***One year ago today;/a>
I arrived in Juneau for the start of a three-week, 1100-mile bike ride through Alaska.
***In lieu of the Tuolumne trip
I went for a bike ride today. Since I’ve found that an occasional mountain bike ride is a good way to keep me from getting too distracted by the occasional mountain biking yahoos [...]

***Yet another hike
around the middle loop at Almaden Quicksilver today. (Randol to Prospect #3 and back via Mines Trail.) The mountain bikers were out in force today. I’m OK with this - heck, I’ve ridden my mountain bike at this park. However, a couple of yahoos went flying past me just above the parking lot [...]

***Final exams next week
and then my summer vacation begins. Because I teach on the quarter-system (that’s why I’m still in school at the end of June) I don’t start classes again until late September. Yeah!

***Quicksilver Park
again today. Got an early start; did my Prospect #3 loop; home by 10:00.
***Waterfall Day
-
Some years ago we started doing a family one-day trip to Yosemite Valley in early June to catch the waterfalls near their peak. We’ve missed the past few years but we plan to be there tomorrow!
